Lennon influence motivates me to push for Celtic first team - Rogic

Tom Rogic says the positive words he has received from manager Neil Lennon has given him the motivation to kick on and push for a regular first team spot.

The 20-year old Australian midfielder is developing his game nicely with the Scottish giants since his January move from Central Coast Mariners and insists he now wants to become a key contributor at Parkhead.

"The manager has said some positive things, which is reassuring," he told SunSport.

"He is certainly not the type of person to say things he doesn't mean.

"I've played a few games, I'd like a bit more game time but with the squad as strong as it is, I expected to be not as important in the first team at this stage.

"I'm looking to build on that into next season and get a bit more game time."

Rogic, who is preparing for Australia's World Cup qualifier with Oman in Sydney next week, admits his rise to becoming a Celtic player has certainly been rapid but is now looking to become a regular member at both club and country level.

"I wouldn't have thought it possible to be coming home a Celtic player two years ago," he added.

"Still, I'm certainly not going to be content or satisfied where I'm at. I'm always going to push myself to achieve better things - make the first team, or the national team, on a regular basis."
