Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon admits he chose Everton ahead of rival offers on deadline day last week.
Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion were also keen on the midfielder.
"A few clubs came in but as soon as I heard Everton were in that was my only choice: as soon as the call came I couldn't wait to get up the motorway," said Lennon.
"The manager (Roberto Martinez) and the staff here have been brilliant in helping me settle in straight away. They've made it easy to settle in so far.
"My immediate aim is to help Everton as much as I can. I don't think it's about proving myself again but I've not played much football this season so sometimes you do drop a level and people start forgetting about you.
"Hopefully I remind people quickly at Everton."
