David Nugent is one of the few players who has suffered the ignominy of relegation twice in one season and the striker says it is not a 'nice feeling'.
During the 2010 Premier League campaign, Nugent was on loan at Burnley from Portsmouth and he could not help the Clarets avoid the drop.
While he was away at Burnley, his parent club Portsmouth had endured financial turmoil and were eventually demoted after being docked points for entering administration.
Recollecting the astonishing season, Nugent says that suffering two relegations during the same campaign was not a nice feeling but added that the experience made him a stronger person.
Nugent told the Leicester Mercury: "It was not nice. I was on loan with Burnley and it was hard.
"Burnley got off to a great start under Owen Coyle but he left for Bolton and Brian Laws came in, and it just never worked for him. Everything went against us and nothing seemed to work out.
"Portsmouth were struggling. Players were coming in and going out, the club was put into administration and points were docked. To get relegated twice in one year wasn't ideal. After that, I think I have come back stronger and as a stronger person."
However, Nugent is keen on avoiding relegation with bottom-placed Leicester City this season and added that suffering such an experience again with the Foxes would represent a travesty.
He continued: "I signed for Leicester and we have done ever so well to come up to the Premier League, and I just hope it doesn't happen again.
"This is my fourth season at Leicester now and I feel part of the club. Because I have been here four years and come up with the club, it will be harder to take. It is a great club, and to see us go down would be a travesty, for the fans and everyone involved with the club."
