Leicester City's winter transfer window acquisition Andrej Kramaric has revealed that he turned down the chance to join Chelsea in January.

23-year old Kramaric joined the Foxes in a club record fee of £9 million following a stunning first-half to the season with Croatian side HNK Rijeka. In a recent interview with Vecemji List, Kramaric said: "I never had a chance to meet Jose Mourinho, it is true there was an option for me to join Chelsea.

"It wasn't an easy decision for me, but after I heard I was supposed to go on loan somewhere outside England, I rejected Chelsea and chose Leicester because I wanted to feel real football, I wanted to play in Premier League!

"I've played against Man United, Man City and Arsenal, and I am not impressed at all by their strength. Chelsea is one step ahead of all the others."
