Leicester City have been handed a huge boost with the news that Kasper Schmeichel is fit enough to make his first start since December.
The Danish goalkeeper has been out of action with a metatarsal injury since December 7 but has been passed fit for the weekend's meeting with Tottenham.
Foxes boss Nigel Pearson has been alternating between Mark Schwarzer and Ben Hamer in goal during the absence of Schmeichel but it has now been revealed that the former Leeds United custodian will be in contention to start against Spurs.
The 28-year old was on the substitute's bench during Leicester's goalless draw against Hull last weekend and has since managed to prove his fitness after getting 90 minutes under his belt in the development squad match against Sunderland on Monday night.
Schmeichel has made 14 Premier League appearances for Leicester so far this season and his return will surely be a boost for Leicester in their fight against relegation.
