Leicester survival a tremendous achievement - Pearson

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has labelled the club's survival in the Premier League a tremendous achievement.

After spending most of the season at the foot of the table, the Foxes have picked up 19 points from a possible 24 in their last eight games to ensure their top flight safety.

"I am a human being but I am not going to lie, there have been moments when you have to question whether we could or can't, but they certainly didn't last long," said Pearson.

"If there were, they would have been moments rather than a feeling that is the case.

"The players need to enjoy it for what it is. It has been a tremendous run and an achievement in context.

"Success is relative and success for us this season, when you consider where we were, to achieve safety with a game to go is testament to the work the players have put in.

"That is something we can't underplay.

"In the context of where we were two months ago, staying up with a game to spare is quite an achievement."
