Leicester City and Newcastle United have expressed interest in Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij.

The defender has just six months remaining on his contract with the Italian giants, meaning that he is able to speak to overseas clubs and even sign a pre-contract ahead of a summer move.

The Foxes and Newcastle are keen, says FC Inter News, along with Villarreal, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid. Villarreal have already made an offer to the Dutchman.

De Vrij is said to be still weighing up his options, with a stay at Inter still a possibility. The club have offered him a new two-year-deal.

But the 31-year-old is said to be concerned about the game time he would get at the club, with that being the biggest factor in any decision he makes.
