Leicester City must go higher to land Wigan Athletic midfielder Shaun Maloney.
The Scotland international is a target this month for Foxes boss Nigel Pearson.
The Daily Mail says the Foxes have had a £750,000 offer for Maloney rejected by Wigan.
Leicester are expected to return with a new bid.
