Leicester City midfielder Adrien Silva admits hopes of signing permanently with AS Monaco have fallen over.
Silva spent the past French season with ASM on-loan before it was cut short by the Macron government.
He told France Football: "Monaco had expressed the wish to keep me as a senior player within its next squad. In any case, this is what the managers told me.
"But during the crisis, the club informed me of its change of decision. It was something that surprised me. It surprised me because I adapted very well to ASM and I thought I had done well at a time when the club was in the grip of great difficulties.
"Maybe the project has changed? I do not know. I don't know which project they opted for ... Many senior players left. I don't really know which direction is taking the club and what will be its new objectives."
