Leicester City fullback Ricardo Pereira says he didn't expect his debut season to go as well as it did.

The Portugal international collected the Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year award at the Foxes end of season awards gala.

“I wasn't expecting it to go so well," he told French website nice-matin.

"I had faith in myself, but you never quite know what to expect in a new country, in a new league.

"I needed to adapt to life in England, to my teammates, to a new style of play.

"After 2-3 months, I felt at home."
