Leicester eye permanent deal for Stoke defender Huth

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson wants Robert Huth permanently.

The German centre-back joined the Foxes on loan from Stoke City in January and has been an integral part of the club's survival campaign.

Huth has 12 months to run on his Potters contract but Pearson admits he would like to bring the 30-year old to the King Power Stadium in a less temporary basis this summer.

"Basically the answer was yes," he said when asked if he wants Huth permanently.

"I've not spoken to Mark (Hughes, Stoke boss) about that and it's not right for me to talk in the public domain without the relevant parties being involved in that conversation. Certainly he has done very well for us, I think you can get an answer from that.

"I don't want to get into that sort of discussion when, firstly, I've not spoken to his parent club Stoke.

"I'm really pleased that we were able to bring him in when he did. He didn't play so much early on and he hasn't played an awful lot of football this season but his experience has been very valuable for us.

"I think his performances have been excellent for us. It's difficult to quantify and I'm loathed to single people out. Having said that, I am more than happy to acknowledge his considerable contribution."
