Leicester City are to hand key duo Kasper Schmeichel and Danny Simpson new contracts, according to reports from The Sun.

Both Schmeichel and Simpson have been an integral part of the Leicester side which has enjoyed a stunning season so far and it can now be revealed that the club are ready to award the key pair with brand new contracts.

Right-back Simpson has just over a year remaining on his deal at the King Power Stadium and Leicester are keen on tying up the defender to a long-term contract.

Schmeichel still has two-and-a-half years to run on his current deal but the club want to reward the goalkeeper with improved terms in an attempt to stave off interest from other clubs.
