Danny Simpson has been found guilty of assaulting his former girlfriend.

The Leicester City defender was involved in an incident where he was choking now ex-girlfriend Stephanie Ward when police arrived at her house in December 2014.

Simpson pleaded not guilty but the court believe differently and he will now be sentenced next month.

The former Manchester United youngster joined Newcastle United in 2010 and enjoyed his most successful individual spell at a club there before moving to QPR in 2013 and into Leicester last summer.
