Leicester boss Rodgers: Praet excellent for victory over Leeds

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers was delighted with Dennis Praet after victory over Leeds United.

The Belgian midfielder faced a tall order as he came in for the suspended James Maddison on Thursday night. But, making his first home City start since December 2020, he played a vital role in both goals.

“I thought he was excellent," Rodgers said on Praet. “Firstly, he pressed it really well, his energy was good, he was back in supporting Tim [Castagne] and Youri [Tielemans] on that side.

“He's a really clever footballer tactically. Why we played him was because Leeds press it so well, you've got to play forward as much as you can, but you also need players to run forward, and his run really set up that goal as well. He had a chance right before he came off but I think his legs had gone at that point.

“I'm delighted for Dennis. He's had some injuries this year and not been able to play, but tonight I thought he was very good."
