Leicester boss Rodgers: I've thought about Slimani

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers admits that he already has some idea regarding the future of Islam Slimani.

There is much debate about where the Algerian striker features in the new manager's plans. He will be back from loan in the summer.

And Rodgers admits that he has thought about the club record signing, who still has two years left on his contract.

"Yes, I have my own idea," said Rodgers to reporters of Slimani's situation.

"It has obviously been a difficult one for him and, listen, sometimes it just doesn't work out at a club. That is the way it is.

"But I am in discussions with Jon Rudkin [director of football] and the club in terms of all the players and where we are at, and making sure all our group is strong, and he is one of the players I need to look at and assess what he is doing."
