Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has eased talk of selling Islam Slimani to Aston Villa.
Slimani signed a season-long deal at Monaco and with no recall clause in the loan contract, Villa would need permission from City and the principality club to bring in the 31-year-old.
“That looks like it's probably going to be too complicated," Rodgers said when asked about the possibility of Slimani moving clubs.
“There is an interest in him but he's due to be at Monaco for the season so I'm not sure if anything would happen on that. It just may be a little bit complicated."
City want Slimani in the shop window ahead of the summer, when they will hope to claw back some of the £28m they forked out for the Algerian international, who failed to live up to his price-tag, says the Leicester Mercury.
