Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson hopes to draw a line under last week's events.
Pearson was reportedly sacked a week ago, before being reinstated by the club's owners.
"Whatever people think about the situation and what has happened this week, my job as a manager is to protect the players, the football club and myself," said Pearson.
"There is no mileage in allowing the speculation surrounding the week's events to allow people to force a wedge.
"Do I care what people think? Of course I care but I can't let it affect how I do the job. Whenever you are a manager, or a leader of a group in some description, the most important part is the people you work with and for have a respect."
