Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson left behind his more accomplished colleagues such as Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger and Roberto Martinez to win the Manager of the Month award for April.
The Foxes won four of their five league games in April to move up to 16th spot, where they sit a point clear of the relegation zone.
Pearson admitted it was a great honour to land the prize but added that the biggest reward will be Premier League survival.
"I am flattered," he said. "It is very pleasing but, of course, it is not about it being one person.
"I am always very conscious of the support I get from the staff and players alike.
"It is nice to pick up awards but there is a bigger picture and I never forget that.
"It is important we pigeon-hole that now and get back to what is really important, and that is trying to get three points tomorrow."
Leicester host Southampton at the King Power Stadium on Saturday in another vital clash for their survival hopes.
