Manchester City saw off competition from Leicester City for former AC Milan striker Luca Scapuzzi.
The 20 year-old prospect signed for City after successful preseason trials and is already catching the eye for the reserve-team.
Scapuzzi has recovered from a serious knee injury suffered last year and has made the most of a chance meeting with City boss Roberto Mancini while holidaying in Sardinia.
Along with Mancini, Foxes boss Sven Goran Eriksson also made an open invitation to Scapuzzi in preseason, but the youngster decided to try his luck with City.
He's now done enough to earn himself a 12-month deal - with the option of a three-year contract on the table should he impress.
