Leeds United boss Warnock to stick by Becchio

Leeds United manager Neil Warnock has plans to get Luciano Becchio back to his best next season.

The Argentine striker struggled last term after undergoing an operation to fix a damaged hamstring but Warnock is tipping him to bounce back in 2012/13 as he goes about strengthening his Whites squad.

"I'm a big fan of Becchio," said Warnock. "I think he can be a lot better player than what I've seen and that's what I'll be working on in pre-season.

"That's why I decided to put Billy Paynter on the transfer-list, because I feel if I do bring another striker in, he needs to be slightly different to what those two are.

"We're looking at pace in different areas and power as well. It's just trying to get the right recipe on the ins and outs."
