Leeds sign up luxury watch brand

ChampionshipLeeds United have announced Swiss luxury watch brand Ebel as an official partner for the remainder of the 2011/12 season, reports SportsPro. According to a statement released by Elland Road club on Tuesday, as the official timing partner Ebel will 'time-reference the critical moments in the match via the giant screen' at every home game at Elland Road. The deal will also see a giant clock positioned inside the new East Stand reception area at the stadium.

Leeds United chief executive Shaun Harvey said: "The multi million pound redevelopment of the East Stand, combined with the global recognition of the Leeds United brand has provided the perfect environment for Ebel to join our growing Commercial Partners Programme. We are delighted to welcome another market leading brand to the club, and we look forward to activating the relationship with Ebel and their official stockists during the course of the season."

Linda Brandwood, Ebel UK sales and marketing director, added: "I am excited by this partnership which will bring real benefits to both of our businesses, including the opportunity for us to showcase Ebel watches to the Leeds United fanbase and conference guests.

"We will be working closely with our appointed official stockist Ogden of Harrogate throughout the season on activation of the partnership."

Ebel's involvement with European soccer clubs has included deals with the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Lyon and Glasgow Rangers.

Financial terms of its Leeds agreement were not released.
