Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino is running out of time to buy Elland Road.
The Mirror says Cellino has repeatedly said since taking over the sleeping Yorkshire giants that he would purchase the ground before the £1.6million-a-year rent increases by three per cent in the middle of next month.
The Italian tycoon claimed he had the money to fund the £16m deal after the club sold striker Ross McCormack to Fulham for £10.75m in July.
However, with Cellino's deadline less than 48 hours away, it is understood he has been knocked back by the banks in his attempts to borrow the money to finance the buy-back.
