Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa insists Patrick Bamford's absence has hurt them this season.
Leeds have won two of their opening 10 Premier League games this season and sit three points above the bottom three.
On his side's performances so far, Bielsa said: "I have been evaluating game by game. All of the performances have not been the same.
"The amount of points we have and the position is not what we wanted.
"The fact Patrick [Bamford] scored a goal every two games last season is impossible to ignore. We prepare ourselves to solve the absence of any player."
Expanding on Bamford's problem, Bielsa said: "It's all subject to Bamford's evolution.
"It's the problem in his ankle. It's not a simple injury. You can't give an exact prognosis. The response I give when I say it's subject to his evolution can not be interpreted as me not giving all the info I possess, because for injuries like this the prognosis can't be given exactly."
