Lee Grant delighted with Man Utd support over coaching ambitions

Manchester United goalkeeper Lee Grant is delighted with the support he's had over his push to enter coaching.

Grant signed a new 12-month deal earlier this year.

He told the UTD Podcast: “My coaching journey started way back when I was at Derby County in terms of goalkeeping B licence and outfield B licence and that gave me a real thirst for it and I continued while I was at Stoke. As I arrived at Manchester United I am really blessed and really lucky that I have some good mentors but I also have some great good young coaches who I can feed off of as well. The club have been fantastic with me as they have allowed me to get a sense of what that is going to be like for me as well.

Michael Carrick and Kieran (McKenna) they'll allow me to come and sit down and get ten minutes with them in the media room or the analysts have got time for me if I need it to have a chat and chew their ear off about what we are doing or where they are finding stats or how they are interacting with manager and this and that.

“I am always asking those types of questions, I am constantly watching what the gaffer is doing, how he interacts with people, and I'm just busy learning what it is like to be at an elite football club and how these things can help me go forward because I have got my own aspirations after the game. I want to coach, I want to manage and I feel like I am in a really good place, in a really good football club to learn about how to go about doing that."
