Lazio president Lotito thrilled after winning Super Cup

Lazio president Claudio Lotito was thrilled with his players after winning the Super Cup in Beijing last night against Inter Milan.

"I am very satisfied with the performance of my team, especially as we sent an important message that means a lot to me," said Lotito.

"Football can go back to basing itself on authentic values and not the concept that whoever spends the most automatically wins."

The President was also furious when he heard that Jose Mourinho had said Inter deserved to win 3-1 and the official club website reported Francelino Matuzalem "blatantly" scored the opener with his hand.

"I heard some comments on the match that simply had no relation to reality. I think it is necessary that someone learns how not to be a sore loser."

He added: "I consider this a victory of the team, which includes the medical staff and everyone who works at the club. Davide Ballardini was able to put the side out brilliantly.

"Now Rossi is of the past and the team was in the hands of another Coach today. Our objective for this season is to compete on a par with everyone, even if we still need to make a few adjustments."
