Lazio president Claudio Lotito is full of pride after seeing his team beat Inter Milan for the Super Cup.
"Many people laughed when in 2004 I said I would make a winning side with no debts and a 'virtuous' bank balance," said Lotito.
"Now they have had to eat their words. My pride is not so much at the success as with the fact we've proved that you can win with ideas and not just by spending money."
When Lotito took over the Biancocelesti, they were on the verge of bankruptcy following Sergio Cragnotti's reign.
"Things have changed since his day. We are winning and will not stop here with the trophies.
"We proved in the Super Cup that we have a very competitive squad. I will reinforce it even more."
