Lazio go toe-to-toe with Swansea for West Ham striker Valencia

Lazio are set to make their presence felt in a potential bidding war for West Ham United's Enner Valencia.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Italian club are keen to lure the Ecuadorian striker from East London but will have to battle it out with Swansea City.

It is understood that Lazio want Valencia on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal but at this stage are well below West Ham's £15million valuation.

The Hammers have rejected Lazio's £2.5m loan offer which would see the East Londoners paid a further £8m if the 26-year-old plays in half of their games next season.

Swansea have reportedly offered a loan fee of £3m plus £10m for games bonuses but West Ham want an outright fee of £15m for the man they paid £12m to Mexican club Pachuca two years ago.
