Lazio defender Wesley Hoedt admits he regrets his time in England.

Hoedt returned to Lazio from Southampton, having left in 2017.

"I made a mistake by leaving Lazio, and I must be the first to admit that, but you make mistakes in life. I'm happy to have the chance to do it all again," he said.

"I have gained three years of experience abroad, and I am definitely more mature as a person and as a player.

"Now it is up to me to prove it."
