Lazio are hopeful of closing a deal for AZ Alkmaar defender Wesley Hoedt before the weekend.

Hoedt, 20, has been vocal in his hopes of signing for Lazio this month.

Negotiations have intensified this week and there's hope in Rome of a deal being agreed in the next 24 hours.

Indeed, Hoedt could be in Italy later today for a medical ahead of signing for the Biancoceleste.
