Laudrup poised to appoint new assistant at Swansea

Swansea boss Michael Laudrup is set to appoint Denmark Under 21 manager Morten Wieghorst as his new assistant, reports Wales Online. Former Celtic midfielder Wieghorst is set to be unveiled as Laudrup's new No. 2 having stated his intention to quit the national post at the end of the season.

"It surprises me a little. I had an idea, he would not renew with us, but it surprises me that he will be presented in Swansea tomorrow," said DBU general secretary Jim Stjerne Hansen.

But it appears Laudrup has got his man to work alongside right-hand man Erik Larsen and first-team coach Alan Curtis.
