New York Red Bulls have secured the services of 2011 MLS SuperDraft selection Tyler Lassiter.

The 21-year old was taken with the 30th overall pick by the Red Bulls and now has been added to the sejnior playing roster for the 2011 season.

Lassiter was a central defender for North Carolina State last year and led the club in both goals and assists on six.

Red Bulls general manager Erik Soler was happy to officially welcome the promising Lassiter to the club.

"We believe that Tyler has a bright future ahead of him and are excited to come to terms with him," said Soler.

"He is a very smart and technical player who can add depth to our back line."
