Lampard yearns for Drogba's Chelsea return

Chelsea veteran Frank Lampard admits he would love to see former teammate Didier Drogba return to the club.

The Ivory Coast striker was back at Stamford Bridge last night as Galatasaray took on the Blues in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg but the Turkish side crashed out 3-1 on aggregate.

Drogba, who is out of contract at the Turk Telekom Arena in the summer, has been linked with a possible comeback to the west London club as either a player or a coach and Lampard insists it would be something he's like to see occur.

"Of course I'd like to see Didier back as a coach or as a player," Lampard told the Evening Standard.

"The manager said before the game that you can't see him not being part of the club in some shape or form.

"It's up to him and the club, but he's always going to be regarded as a legend and held in the top bracket in this club.

"I'm sure if he can give something back, I'm sure Didier would love to."
