England midfielder Frank Lampard still wants the national team to improve in the lead up to nest year's World Cup.
Despite the 5-1 win over Croatia that saw England book a place at South Africa, Chelsea's Lampard, who scored a double at Wembley, knows the team must work hard prior to the finals in 2010.
"We put the record straight," Lampard said.
"This performance showed everything we are about.
"This is the first step, we have qualified now and there is still a long way to go.
"If we can keep improving when we get to the World Cup, then that will be fantastic.
"We are all very level headed and understand there is still work to be done," he added, "but it is nice to enjoy it for the moment."
