Lampard taking young Everton squad to Australia

Premier League giants Everton have departed for Australia as they prepare for the rest of the league season.

The Toffees and manager Frank Lampard are in a tough position at present, as they are only a handful of points away from the relegation zone.

However, Lampard will be using the World Cup break to work on the players' fitness and teamwork, as they take on Celtic and Western Sydney Wanderers in friendlies.

Jordan Pickford, Amadou Onana, Idrissa Gueye and Conor Coady will not be with the squad as they go to the World Cup, while Alex Iwobi and Seamus Coleman are also called up for international friendlies.

Lampard will likely fill out his squad with Under-21 players to ensure they have a competitive group.
