Frank Lampard is ready to pen a new deal with Chelsea.
The Daily Express says Lampard is ready to join John Terry in putting his signature to a new one-year deal when he returns from England's training camp in Portugal at the weekend.
Negotiations hit a hitch over his wage demands, with Lampard currently on around £150,000 a week. But now both parties are close to agreeing a new deal which will have a lower basic salary but an appearances element that will be enough to keep Lampard, Chelsea's record goalscorer, at the club for one more season.
A source close to Lampard said last night: "Frank is feeling very positive about the whole thing. He fully expects his Chelsea future to be resolved at some point next week before he flies off to Brazil.
"He is not looking at any other option other than spending next season at Stamford Bridge."
