Chelsea and England star Frank Lampard is impressed with the Young Three Lions U21 side under the leadership of boss Stuart Pearce. Lampard told Uefa.com, "There's a lot of interest at the development of the Under-21 players to the full side, and this is evident in other nations as well. Especially as some sides have greater technical ability that the English.
"I always liked going away with the U-21s. You miss the family a bit... but Stuart Pearce has instilled a belief that the U-21 performances are more important than they were once deemed before.
"If you go two weeks away and don't play then you mentally toughen up when you are on the bench.
"I've been to a World Cup and European Championship, but some other nations have perfected a routine greater than we have and adapt more to being away."
