Erik Lamela aims to be the latest Argentine to become a Tottenham fans' favourite.

The Argentine hopes he can replicate the success of his countrymen who have gone before him at Spurs, lauding the feats achieved by both Ricky Villa and Ossie Ardiles.

"I'm really happy to be here and I know I'm following some big footsteps with those two players and I respect them a lot.

"I'm hoping that I can also make the same transition and be as good as they are."
