Lacny to leave Dundee United for career-saving knee surgery

Dundee United loanee Milos Lacny will undergo career-saving knee surgery this weekend.

The 24-year old Slovakian striker tor his cruciate ligament in training last week and will need to have an operation as soon as possible in a bid to play again at the highest level.

Lacny was on loan from Sparta Prague until January but he has been ruled out until Christmas meaning his Tangerines career is now over.

Lacny's agent, Paul Atkin, confirmed that his client would have to have surgery soon and is devastated at not being able to play for United again.

"Milos is gutted because he'd been enjoying his time at Tannadice and was looking forward to making an impact," Atkin said.

"However, the surgeon said he wouldn't be able to play at the highest level again unless he has an operation this weekend.

"Milos has been told it will take until Christmas before he's ready to become involved again and his loan deal runs out at the start of January."
