LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham is confident of returning to AC Milan in January. England manager Fabio Capello has said the LA Galaxy player must return to a top European league to have any hope of making his 2010 World Cup squad.

Beckham, 34, said: "I want to return to Milan, and they have said they would be happy to have me back. I think I will return when the transfer market reopens in January."
