Robbie Keane has been named the MLS Player of the Month for August.
The LA Galaxy captain scored five goals and provided two assists in four MLS matches as the reigning champions won three and drew one match.
Keane scored a hat-trick against Real Salt Lake on August 17 before netting a double against San Jose Earthquakes on August 31 to be named the best player for the month by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR).
Keane currently sits fourth on the MLS Golden Boot chart with 12 and third on the assists standings with 10.
The former Tottenham striker edged out teammate Landon Donovan, Blas Pérez (FC Dallas), Diego Valeri (Portland Timbers), Eddie Johnson (Seattle Sounders), and Marco Di Vaio (Montreal Impact) for the honour.
