Landon Donovan was named as the MLS Cup final Most Valuable Player for his performance in the 2011 season decider on Sunday.
The USA star scored the only goal of the 1-0 win over Houston Dynamo to become just the second player in league history (behind Dwayne De Rosario) to take out the MVP for the MLS Cup following his two-goal showing for San Jose Earthquakes in their 2003 triumph over Chicago Fire.
Donovan had a game-high five shots on goal, with two on target, and was a constant threat to the Dynamo defence as the Galaxy completed a successful season in which they also took out the Supporters' Shield for finishing with the best record at the end of the regular season.
