LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham will seek a top tier club if he chooses to return to England next season.
Beckham will leave Galaxy when his contract expires later this year.
"I had a great career in England for 12 or 13 years - who knows if I will play there again?" said Beckham. "It's my last contract year in the USA and I don't have many years left.
There is already plenty of interest and Harry Redknapp has hinted he may try to take him back to Spurs in a playing capacity.
Manchester United icon Beckham must consider whether he will be better served by joining a top-tier club and playing one in every three games or signing for a lower-rung side with the guarantee of regular first-team football.
A friend of Beckham told the Daily Express: "David is cut from the same cloth as Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes. They keep incredibly fit and retain the hunger to play at top level. They don't start every game for Manchester United, but are still capable of playing for their national teams."
