LA Galaxy captain Robbie Keane was gushing over Gyasi Zardes following a pre-season friendly on the weekend.
The MLS Cup holders defeated Irish side Shamrock Rovers in Dublin on Saturday and it was the performance of 23-year old forward Zardes, who netted 16 times in MLS last term, which had Keane in a very buoyant mood.
"He has come on a lot," Keane told reporters about the Homegrown ace who made his USA debut last month.
"He played on the left [wing] in the first half, but striker is certainly his best position. He scored a lot of goals last year and he's only growing with being called up the national team as well.
"[Juergen] Klinsmann has spoken very, very highly of him and about his attitude in training and the way that he played. He's only going to get better."
Keane also spoke of Zardes' ability to potentially one day play in Europe but insisted that the Galaxy were keen to have him at the StubHub Center for a little while yet.
"He's certainly got the potential [to excel in Europe], but we want to keep him here," the reigning MLS MVP added.
