Landon Donovan has been absent from the past two LA Galaxy matches with a knee injury.
The USA international mysteriously missed the second of the Galaxy's three-match road trip against Toronto FC and it has since been revealed that he is nursing inflammation of his knee.
Donovan also missed last weekend's clash with DC United in Washington and is in doubt for this Saturday's meeting with Chicago Fire at Toyota Park.
The former Everton loanee has been receiving treatment on the problem and it looks likely that he will sit out the Fire fixture so he can get back to full fitness for the long season ahead.
