MLS Cup winners LA Galaxy are believed to be showing interest in Melbourne Victory midfielder Carlos Hernandez.
The Costa Rican international has been the Victory's midfield lynchpin for the past few seasons but his form has waned in the early stages of the 2011/12 A-League season.
With the Galaxy due in town in early December for a friendly with the Victory, event organiser Lou Sticca told The World Game that the California club will be casting a watchful eye over Hernandez.
"I am aware that Galaxy have been keeping an eye on Hernandez's career of late and are showing some interest in him," said Sticca, who has close ties with the Galaxy.
"It's my understanding that his Australian representatives have strongly recommended him to (head coach) Bruce Arena and I know the Galaxy will be keen to see how he fares."
