LA Galaxy's Donovan throws ceremonial pitch at Dodgers game

LA Galaxy and USA star Landon Donovan threw a ceremonial first pitch at the LA Dodgers v Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball game on Sunday.

The 28-year old stepped out at Dodger Stadium to deliver the opening pitch but afterward admitted he wasn't a stranger to baseball as he grew up watching the sport.

"I followed baseball my whole life, I get it: Aim high," Donovan told mlb.com wearing a No. 10 Dodgers jersey. "Growing up we had like basic cable TV so the only thing I really ever watched were Lakers and Dodgers game, so I grew up watching Vin Scully."

A former Dodger season-ticket holder, Donovan said he had an opportunity to return to Europe to take up another contract, potentially with English outfit Everton but joked that he would miss opportunities like this if he moved from MLS again.

"We'll see," Donovan said when asked if he'd leave the States. "I don't get to do this if I go to Europe."
