LA Galaxy are ready to snap up Chelsea ace Frank Lampard in January.

The Daily Star says Lampard is weighing up a free transfer switch to LA Galaxy after being relegated to a squad player this season at Stamford Bridge.

The England star accepts that, at 34, his time as the heartbeat of the Chelsea side is drawing to a close.

But he doesn't want to see out his career warming the bench.

Instead, he is ready to agree a two-year deal to join Beckham in America, with Chelsea paving the way for his departure by agreeing to let him leave for no fee.
