2010 MLS Supporter's Shield winners LA Galaxy have been defeated 2-1 by the Newcastle Jets in their exhibition friendly in Australia. Landon Donovan kicked things off nicely for the Galaxy in the 7th minute with the simplest of finishes but his side conceded a goal in the 38th minute when veteran Jets striker Sasho Petrovski finished neatly before Labinot Haliti slammed home from close range in the 52nd to helped the A-League club to a memorable victory.
23,317 fans turned up to EnergyAustralia Stadium for the event which was beamed live into the States and attracted plenty of media attention in Newcastle, with the locals happily accommodating international superstar David Beckham and his teammates.
