LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena says a Designated Player is not a priority for the back-to-back MLS champions.
There has been plenty of talk regarding the likes of Chelsea's Frank Lampard, Real Madrid's Kaka and Tottenham's Carlo Cudicini joining the Galaxy but Arena suggests a big-name player is not a necessity at The Home Depot Center despite AEG president Tim Leiweke indicating they may go after a new DP following the loss of David Beckham.
"We don't have to bring in a new DP," Arena said.
"I don't think Tim said [we will do so], to be honest with you. I don't think Tim has said we're bringing in another DP.
"We're always going to consider options for Designated Players, but that's not the No. 1 priority of our team."
