Sunderland have snared defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos on loan from Wolfsburg for the remainder of the season.
The 32-year old Greek centre-half, who made around 30 Premier League appearances for Liverpool before moving to Germany, is now back in England after passing a medical for the Black Cats.
Martin O'Neill moved quickly for Kyrgiakos when he became available and swiftly added him to the loan signing of left-back Wayne Bridge from Manchester City.
